St. Clair County Map 1874

I found this 1874 map of St. Clair County online.  It is a regular who’s who from our family tree.   Paderborn is located to the right of the pink triangle in the middle.
  • Ignatius (Ignatz) Neff owned 520 acres from at least 6 plots of land.  They are mostly east of Paderborn, but there are a couple wooded lots south and a little west of Paderborn.
  • Ignatz's son Jacob Neff owned two 40 acres lots next to his father's.
  • Ignatz Neff married Anna Eva Roth.  Her father Joannes Adam Roth owned 97 acres a couple miles north east of Paderborn.
  • Ignatz Neff’s son Adam married Anna Katherine Fleckenstein.  Her father Joseph Fleckenstein also owned 80 acres just south of Paderborn.  He owned another plot of 40 acres just north east of one of Ignatz Neff’s 80 acre plots and yet another 120 acre plot north east of Paderborn.
  • Surrounding Paderborn are Casper Mueth’s land.  We can probably assume he was one of the first settles of Paderborn based on the location of his land.  Just north of Paderborn Casper’s son Johan also has a plot of 80 acres.
  • Johann Mueth married Catherina Schoenborn.  Her father Michael owned 80 acres due south of Paderborn.
  • Kasper Mueth married Eva Armbruster.  She had a brother Peter and a brother Philip.  One of them owned a small 20 acre plot bordering Paderborn to the south.
  • Kasper Mueth’s son August Mueth married Barbara Reinhardt.  Her brother Leo Reinhardt owned 80 acres just west of Paderborn.
  • Louis Mueth (son of Johan Mueth, son of Kasper) married Veronica Klein.  Her father Nicolaus Klein owned 120 acres a couple miles north east of Paderborn.
